FOF Sizzlin' Summer Recorder Camp - June 2012

This week-long recorder camp, is designed for rising 2nd and 3rd grade students to start learning an instrument NOW!  Students will learn to play and read music in one week of morning classes.  They will demonstrate for their parents in a short performance at the end of the week.

Reading musical notation while performing on an instrument is a cross-brain activity which builds brain connections and strengthens neural pathways!

Recorder is the ideal first instrument for young children because it is easy to blow and finger.

In the camp students will actively engage in music making, develop an understanding of musical concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, learn to read music notation, experience success and enjoyment from cooperative music making.

This class is a great jumping-off point to launch students into the orchestra and band programs!

One week to last a lifetime!
